Entries for our New Music • New Video composition competition have started off strong!

We love that so many of you have responded our call for new, innovative music for piano duo and that you're pushing yourselves to your creative limits. From fun pop-inspired showpieces to dramatic classical works, the breadth of styles represented is impressive and inspiring!

Over the coming months we'll be sharing competition news, behind-the-scenes looks at our most recent video shoots, and more. We hope the glimpse into our creative process will motivate and inspire those of you who have yet to enter. 

We've pushed back the submission deadline to September 1, 2018 so you all have more time to dig deep and show us what you've got!

Celebrate Beethoven's birthday with these new scores for piano duo

Among performing, traveling, video-making, and announcing our New Music • New Video composition competition, we've also managed to put the finishing touches on four new piano duo scores:

• Brahms/Anderson & Roe: Lullaby
• Schubert/Anderson & Roe: Ave Maria
• Beethoven/Anderson & Roe: “Andante con moto” from Symphony No. 5
• Beethoven/Anderson & Roe: “Allegretto” from Symphony No. 6

Last month we performed our dreamy, mobile-inspired four-hand arrangement of Brahms' Lullaby on Performance Today. Watch our performance here, starting at 17:53. To mark the occasion, we've released score to the public.

To celebrate the holiday season, we've released our arrangement of "Ave Maria" (arranged for piano—four hands). And we found two Beethoven symphony scores (both arranged for two pianos) to make available in celebration of Beethoven's 247th birthday!

New Music • New Video Competition

We’re thrilled to announce our New Music • New Video composition competition! Driven by our passion to make classical music a relevant force in today's society, we’ve come up with a composition competition unlike any other. 

The purpose of this call is to encourage composers to create new, impactful works for piano duo. We will perform the winning submission in a fully produced Anderson & Roe music video, to be shared over all our social media channels.

This is a unique opportunity for a composer—young or old, brand new or well established, self-taught or conservatory educated—to have their work potentially reach millions of new listeners all over the world by featuring their talents on the global stage: social media.

We're incredibly eager to share our passion and platform with the winning composer, and we can't wait to see what sort of wild, weird, and exciting film we'll create together. The deadline is September 1, 2018. Start your composing engines!

Catch us "Live"!

We're joining host Fred Child for a friendly chat and recording session on PRI's Performance Today this Monday, November 20 at noon EST / 9:00am PST. The interview and performance will take place in New York City's new Steinway Hall before a live audience and be broadcast simultaneously via Facebook Live.
